How much to spread?
The amount of salt to be spread depends heavily on several factors. For example, weather conditions, the surface, and traffic all influence the effectiveness and therefore the amount to be spread..
Some spreading tips:
1. Spread a few hours before it starts snowing. A handful (about 20 grams) per m² is sufficient.
2. It is important to spread preventively rather than curatively, so before it becomes slippery. This way, permanent safety can be guaranteed, and you can control salt consumption: spreading 1 kg preventively can save 5 kg of curative spreading.
3. After snowfall, it is best to clear the surface as much as possible before spreading the salt.
